The Navārna Mantra also known as Chandi or Navakshari (the one with nine-syllables):
oṁ aiṁ hrīṁ klīṁ chāmuṇḍāyai
vichche
ॐ ऐं ह्रीं क्लीं चामुण्डायै विच्चे
ॐ ऐं ह्रीं क्लीं चामुण्डायै विच्चे
Om
= Pranav representing Parmatma
Aim = Mahasaraswati (representing Satvaguna – equilibrium)
Hrim = MahaLakshmi (representing Tamasa guna – static)
Klim = Maha Kali (representing Rajoguna –dynamic)
Chamundaye = Chamunda Devi
Vichhe = to remove (Help move my kundalini sakthi – to achieve realization)
Aim = Mahasaraswati (representing Satvaguna – equilibrium)
Hrim = MahaLakshmi (representing Tamasa guna – static)
Klim = Maha Kali (representing Rajoguna –dynamic)
Chamundaye = Chamunda Devi
Vichhe = to remove (Help move my kundalini sakthi – to achieve realization)
Pranav Swaroopi Chamundi, the unified form of Mahasaraswati, Mahalakshmi, Maha Kali, help move my kundalini sakthi .
It must be noted that the Sanskrit mantras are in meta-language and do not have conventional meaning. The Beeja Mantra is also pronounced as “Om Aing Hreeng Kleen Chamundaye Vichche”. Extreme care must be taken to chant Chandi Beeja Mantra. Initiation (Upadesh) from a Guru of the Chandi Navakshari mantra will bestow you with God-realization.
Prayers offered to Durga Ma (the compassionate one), by chanting atleast 108 times,the Durga Gayathri daily gives the same results.

Dear Sai Ram ji,
ReplyDeleteI have several mantropadesham and have been fortunate to have been able to diligently do japam daily for the last few years. I spend minimum amount of time now on other japams and spend more time doing the Navakshari japam. I do have a question. I would like to chant Navakshari japam all the time, besides my prayer time in the evening. But I was told that I cannot chant Navakshari at all times like while driving, taking bath, walking etc., as it is a Maha Mantra and needs to be treated with the utmost respect. I have the utmost respect for Divine Mother and Her Mantra at all times. But my love for Divine Mother is also very heartfelt and intense. I am really in a dilemma. Can you please clarify this doubt of mine? Sorry, if I asked you a very basic question, but I am not as knowledgeable as a lot of other learned people, especially being a brahmin. Please clarify. Thank you so much. Please email me at sbkcorp@gmail.com.
Regards,

Love with discipline gives union with mother, will we go and hug our parents to if we are dirty? No. Similarly, basic cleanliness is needed so that the mantra makes us pure and even more holier than before. We have a nice picture of God,and wish to enshrine it,but will we keep in a place of old newspapers, dirt,... We will want to clean the surroundings and then ,keep the picture. Keeping the picture in an shabby place neither gives merit to the place,nor to the picture . But, when we clean our body,our mind feels free,clean and peaceful, then the mind as a post man is now fit to communicate with the soul, in which your divine Mother is abiding. It is only a service to her, if we love her with puritybon all planes. If not possible, at least wash your face,drink water and then pacify thy mind and then start all japam. That would do. Thankyou.

ReplyDeleteNamaskaram Sir ram ji. What time is the best time to chant Navakshari mantra? Pls guide me. I was fortunate to get this mantra upadesham fm a priest who used to come to a temple near my house in Singapore for Chandi homam. My email address hemakish@hotmail.com.
ReplyDeleteHemalatha,
ReplyDeleteBest time to do any Devi japam evening / night time. Make sure you have the nyasas, dhyana slokam etc. and the entire process before you start the japam and after you finish the japam. Different guru paramparas have different processes. Most importantly, with any japam, especially Mother's japam, it is very important for you to have or develop extreme love towards Her (any deity). It is called Bhaava and there are 9 types of bhaava. And sacrifice at various levels - physical, mental, spiritual, material - with a happy heart helps a long way in connecting with Mother. Good luck.

Subbu
